Matheson shares ‘diversity journey’ with business leaders
Matheson has shared its “diversity and inclusion journey” with Irish business leaders at the National Diversity and Inclusion Conference.
Chairperson Tara Doyle spoke at the conference’s first session – “Diversity & Inclusion in Action” – alongside representatives from AMCK Aviation and Fidelity Investments, followed by a robust Q&A session.
The conference, now in its second year, was hosted by the DCU Centre of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion in partnership with the Irish Centre for Diversity.
The virtual conference provided an opportunity for national and international thought leaders to share their insights on key D&I issues and to provide practical learnings on how to shape more inclusive and diverse workplaces.
Matheson last year became the first organisation in Ireland to be awarded the Irish Centre for Diversity’s Investors in Diversity Gold Standard.
Ms Doyle said: “I greatly appreciate this opportunity to contribute to this year’s National Diversity and Inclusion Conference on behalf of Matheson, and to hear others’ experiences and insights as we discuss the most pressing D&I topics for Irish businesses.
“The story of our D&I journey in Matheson is not over. It is an ongoing one, and I was pleased to note the high level of interest shown by other participants in how we have been able to shape that journey to date.”
Sandra Healy, director of the DCU Centre of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion, added: “2020 has been a year like no other, bringing about unprecedented challenges and upheaval to many organisations who have grappled with working alongside a global pandemic.
“Organisations have had to change at a rapid pace and more than ever, there is a need to maintain a focus on inclusion and diversity, to deliver the best business, people and customer outcomes.”
