Maynooth students win TU Dublin moot

Maynooth law students Adrian Karbownik and Ramisa Hossain have triumphed in a moot court competition at Technological University Dublin.

The pair went head-to-head with University College Dublin students Emma Flanagan and Ben Casey in a competition centred around the issue of novus actus interveniens in a non-fatal assault and the doctrine of ex turpi causa.

Eve Ryan, Clare Maguire and Philip Gavin judged the competition, which was organised by TUD Law Society auditor Dearbhla McGurk.

“It was a pleasure to have competed with students from across different universities, the standard of mooting was incredible this year and I now look forward to future competitions as I embark my studies in Trinity College next September,” Mr Karbownik told Irish Legal News.
