The MHC has engaged the Munster Technological University and its UNESCO Chair research centre to support the development of the human-rights based approach, which it believes is essential for improving standards of care in the delivery of mental health services.

The researchers have launched a survey in a bid to improve their understanding of current awareness, practice and experiences related to human rights currently in place within mental health services.

Researchers want to hear from those who have knowledge and lived experience of mental health services, as service users or service providers. They are also interested in the experiences of family members, caregivers and supporters, peers, advocates, lawyers, and public officials.
