Michelle O’Neill settles defamation action against Sammy Wilson

Sinn Féin’s Michelle O’Neill has reached a settlement in a libel action against DUP MP Sammy Wilson.
Pádraig Ó Muirigh, director of Ó Muirigh Solicitors, said: “The objective all along in this legal action was to correct the public record in relation to the date of knowledge, of both Martin McGuinness and Michelle O’Neill, of the flaws in the RHI scheme.
“This has been done and my client is satisfied with the outcome of this litigation.
“The parties have agreed a financial settlement within which the defendant, Mr Wilson, has agreed to make a contribution to our client’s legal costs and a donation has been made to a charity chosen by Mrs O’Neill.”
