Mills Selig chief named Northern Ireland’s Dealmaker of the Year
Chris Guy, managing partner and head of corporate at Mills Selig, has been named Northern Ireland’s Dealmaker of the Year.
Mr Guy was named as the winner of the top prize at the Northern Ireland Dealmakers Awards 2021 by Insider on Friday.
This year’s awards dinner was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic and winners were instead announced online throughout the week.
The other shortlisted candidates were Andrew Gowdy of WhiteRock Capital Partners, Damien McParland of Millar McCall Wylie, Caroline MacLaughlin of Cleaver Fulton Rankin and John Reynolds of Keenan CF.
Judges were asked to consider the significance of the deals they were involved in during the qualifying period, their leadership skills and other dealmaking qualities, together with the impact they’ve made in the region and within the corporate finance community.
According to Insider: “Chris has had another successful year, leading the Mills Selig corporate team in some outstanding deals during the qualifying period, the highlights being the acquisition of RenewalsDesk by Questel SAS, the sale of a stake of Quantile Technologies by First Derivatives and the TruCorp MBO from Cordovan Capital Partners.
“Leading on these stand-out deals, as well as his continued commitment to supplying first-class legal advice to his clients, gave Chris the clear edge this year.”
