Molly Joyce appointed acting executive director of penal reform group
Barrister Molly Joyce has been appointed as acting executive director of the Irish Penal Reform Trust (IPRT).
Having worked as the legal and public affairs manager in IPRT since November 2020, Ms Joyce has this month assumed the position of acting executive director while IPRT’s executive director Saoirse Brady is on maternity leave.
Before commencing work in IPRT, Ms Joyce previously worked as a practising barrister in London, specialising in the areas of public and police law.
Prior to this, she worked as the acting London programme manager at Key4Life, a UK-based charity that aims to reduce youth reoffending by offering an innovative rehabilitation programme to those in prison and those at risk of going to prison.
She has further experience working and volunteering with a range of human rights and legal organisations in the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong and South Africa, and has tutored undergraduate students in the areas of public, human rights and medical law.
Ms Joyce holds a Master’s in law from the University of Oxford and an LLB in law from Trinity College Dublin.
