Mr Justice Donal Barrington obituary

The Irish Times has published a full obituary of late Supreme Court judge Mr Justice Donal Barrington, who passed away last week.

It describes the judge as “not only one of the best-known and respected jurists of his generation, but a principled advocate of social and political change in an era when taking initiatives in these areas carried many more risks than benefits”.

Mr Justice Barrington called to the Bar in 1951, became senior counsel in 1967, and was recognised as a leading expert on constitutional law.
