Mr Justice Frank Clarke to be honoured with Hibernian Law Medal
Former chief justice Mr Justice Frank Clarke is to be awarded the Hibernian Law Medal next week.
Awarded by the Hibernian Law Journal since 2018, medal recipients have included senior judges from Ireland and other jurisdictions. The most recent awardees were former president Mary Robinson and former UK Supreme Court president Lady Hale.
The medals seek to recognise individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of justice, the integrity of the rule of law, the independence of the judiciary and the legal professions, and/or public access to and understanding of the legal system, whether in Ireland or in a comparable jurisdiction.
Chief justice Donal O’Donnell will chair a formal conferral ceremony at the Law Society of Ireland next week, where Mr Justice Clarke will deliver an acceptance speech recounting his legal experiences before taking part in a discussion with questions from the audience.
Tickets can be reserved for free via Eventbrite.
