He died yesterday and is survived by his wife, retired Supreme Court judge Mrs Justice Mary Finlay Geoghegan, and three children, The Irish Times reports.

He was called to the Bar in 1962 and to the Inner Bar in 1977, becoming a High Court judge in 1992 before following in his father’s footsteps by being appointed to the Supreme Court in 2000.
