Ms Justice Baker set for elevation to Supreme Court in trio of nominations
Ms Justice Mary Baker has been nominated for elevation to the Supreme Court in a trio of nominations agreed by the Cabinet yesterday.
She has served on the Court of Appeal bench since June 2018, having previously served as a judge of the High Court from 2014.
Ms Justice Baker will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Mrs Justice Susan Denham.
The Cabinet has also agreed to nominate Judge Rosemary Horgan for appointment to the Circuit Court and solicitor John Campbell for appointment to the District Court.
Judge Horgan, a former Ronan Daly Jermyn partner who served as president of the District Court from 2012 to 2019, will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Thomas Teehan.
The vacancy in the District Court arose following the retirement of Judge Aingeal Ní Chondúin.
Mr Campbell joined the roll of solicitors in 1988 and served as principal solicitor of Dublin-based Campbell and Co for over 15 years.
