High Court president Ms Justice Mary Irvine will sit in the Four Courts for the last time on Wednesday morning.

The judge’s final sitting will take place in Court 4 at 10am, with attendance in the court on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tributes will be paid by Attorney General Paul Gallagher SC, Bar Council chairperson Maura McNally SC, Law Society president Michelle Ní Longáin, Courts Service CEO Angela Denning and registrar Brian Battelle.

The retirement ceremony will also be streamed live on YouTube.

Ms Justice Irvine, who is 65, is taking early retirement just two years after her appointment.

She was the first woman to serve as president of the High Court and the first person in the history of the State to hold a fourth judicial office.
