NIHRC dissertation prize awarded to Fiona MacGregor
The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission (NIHRC) prize for the best Master’s dissertation submitted to the Transitional Justice Institute (TJI) at Ulster University has been awarded to Fiona MacGregor.
Ms MacGregor’s dissertation, “Whose Rape is it Anyway?”, explores UN responses to opportunistic sexual violence in protracted refugee settings.
The dissertation was described by its examiners as a brilliant mature piece of work, demonstrating critical insight and a sophisticated approach to methodology.
Ms MacGregor has graduated from the LLM in Gender, Conflict and Human Rights and is now a PhD scholar at Durham University.
