Northern Ireland under spotlight at Post Office inquiry
The public inquiry into the UK’s largest ever miscarriage of justice is examining case studies from Northern Ireland.
The Post Office Horizon IT inquiry heard evidence on Friday from Suzanne Winter, a former Post Office investigator involved in the criminal investigation of Belfast subpostmaster Alan McLaughlin and Omagh subpostmistress Maureen McKelvey.
The inquiry will today hear further evidence from Frederick Leslie Thorpe, another former Post Office investigator involved in the investigation.
Tomorrow, Kevin Shiels, a lawyer involved in the prosecution of Ms McKelvey, will give evidence.
Hearings are livestreamed on the inquiry’s YouTube channel and the schedule can be found on its website.
