Nuala Jackson SC to stand down from Family Lawyers Association
Nuala Jackson SC will stand down as chairperson of the Family Lawyers Association of Ireland (FLA) later this month at the end of her two-year term.
Having led the association through the Covid-19 pandemic, Brexit and significant changes to the family courts, family lawyers told Irish Legal News she leaves the association “in very good shape with membership and morale at an all-time high”.
Ms Jackson’s final engagement as chairperson will be a conference at the RDS on 20 November 2021 titled Brexit and Family Law 2 – The Challenges and The Solutions.
The conference will be chaired by Mrs Justice Bronagh O’Hanlon and Sara Phelan SC, with speakers including Dervla Browne SC, Henry Toner QC from Northern Ireland, Tim Amos QC from London, solicitor Karen O’Leary, Declan Higgins BL, Máire Ní Shúilleabháin from UCD and more.
Ms Jackson told ILN: “Irish family lawyers will remember the first conference pre-Covid which took place in Ballymascanlon House in County Louth and we look forward to seeing everyone in Dublin.”
More information about the conference is available on the FLA website.
