Over £57,000 raised by Bar of Northern Ireland for charity
Last year saw the Bar of Northern Ireland raise over £57,000 for their charity partner the National Autistic Society NI.
Reflecting on the partnership Mark Conlon, chair of the Bar’s charity committee said: “It has been a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding year for myself and all the committee supporting the National Autistic Society NI. I know from my dealings with the charity and visits to the Autism Centre in Carryduff that they are delighted not only with our fundraising efforts but also the awareness that has been raised of their vital work in the community.”
Shirelle Stewart, director of the National Autistic Society NI said,: “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the members of the Bar of Northern Ireland for raising over £57,000 for our charity. It has been an amazing year and the money raised will be used to fund the services that we run for autistic people and their families in Northern Ireland. We couldn’t provide the vital support that we do if it wasn’t for organisations such as the Bar of Northern Ireland and its members who have so kindly given their time and donated so generously. We have enjoyed our time working with you and are very grateful for your support.”
