Partners and staff at Eversheds Sutherland step up their planet fitness
Partners and staff at international law firm Eversheds Sutherland celebrated Global Running Day and World Environment Day by taking part in runs in Dublin and Belfast.
Partners and staff from the firm’s Dublin office took part in a “plogging” event – jogging along Sandymount Strand while picking up rubbish from the beach.
Meanwhile, partners and staff from the firm’s Belfast office completed a run through Belfast city centre to mark the occasion.
Both of these events coincided with the firm’s global fundraising goal to raise funds for WaterAid, to provide water for people in need, and for other charities nominated by its local offices. Eversheds Sutherland employees were encouraged to run 1k, 5k or 10k on the day.
Partner Margaret Gorman, lead for corporate social responsibility (CSR) Lead at Eversheds Sutherland, told Irish Legal News: “Our employees gain a lot from these experiences. This event was a great way for us to have some fun, experience the health benefits associated with running, and help to make a positive contribution to the local community and environment.
“This activity is part of a wider initiative run by our green team. Our green team is part of our CSR committee and we plan to continue this initiative for many years to come.”
The partners and staff were joined by a group from Citi for this initiative.
All Eversheds Sutherland CSR activities are based on a programme called “Fulfilling Lives”. It aims to maximise the potential of everyone in society and focuses on the key areas of charity, education, pro bono legal services and the environment.
Eversheds Sutherland offers a global service through 61 offices worldwide, including six locations in the US, through a single point of contact based in the commercial heart of Dublin.
