NI: Pat Finucane’s widow loses appeal over refusal of inquiry
Solicitor Pat Finucane’s widow, Geraldine Finucane, has lost her appeal against the UK government’s refusal to hold a public inquiry into his 1989 murder.
She argued that the previous Labour-led administration had promised an inquiry would be held, and that Prime Minister David Cameron had unlawfully reneged on this.
The Court of Appeal in Belfast dismissed her appeal, concluding that the government had acted lawfully.
