Professor Tobias Lock to advise Scottish Parliament committee
Professor Tobias Lock of Maynooth University Department of Law has been appointed constitutional advisor to a Scottish Parliament committee.
The one-year appointment will see him support the work of the devolved legislature’s culture, tourism, Europe and external affairs committee in all constitutional matters relating to Brexit.
This involves, among other things, the preparation of written briefings for the committee, attendance of the committee’s evidence sessions, and advice to the committee’s chair and clerk.
Professor Lock, an expert in EU law, joined Maynooth University from Edinburgh Law School in January.
He worked at the Scottish university as a lecturer and then senior lecturer in EU law from 2013-18, having previously lectured at University College London, the University of Surrey and the University of Erlangen, where he obtained most of his legal education.
