Registration opens for Ireland’s only law graduate mentorship programme
Dublin City University (DCU) is seeking alumni mentors and mentees to take part in Ireland’s only mentorship programme for law graduates.
Over 150 law graduates participated in the mentorship programme last year, which took place virtually with participants liaising via Zoom and similar platforms.
This year’s programme, which will run from September 2021 to April 2022, will likely also take place in a primarily virtual format.
The scheme will see recent graduates matched with more senior law graduates, such as trainee solicitors, solicitors, barristers and other professionals, including those who have chosen careers outside of law.
The objective of the programme is to provide encouragement and support for graduates in considering their next career steps, including CV and interview advice, applications for internships and traineeships, and/or guidance in seeking other alternative opportunities as law graduates.
Dr Aisling de Paor, associate professor of law at DCU School of Law & Government, told Irish Legal News: “The programme has been a fantastic success in building an active and engaged law alumni community at DCU and we are very proud of all of our graduates who are taking part.
“The programme offers a unique opportunity for our graduates to avail of valuable career mentorship and to be part of a growing and vibrant network of legal professionals.”
More information about registration for the 2021/22 programme, which will close at 5pm on 20 September 2021, is available on the DCU website.
