Second legal challenge to ‘super junior ministers’

Another legal challenge has been brought against the government’s appointment of so-called “super junior ministers”.
People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy is asking the High Court to issue an injunction preventing the newly-appointed ministers from attending Cabinet meetings.
Mr Murphy is represented by Feichín McDonagh SC, Brendan Hennessy BL and Paul Gunning BL, instructed by KM Solicitors LLP, according to The Irish Times.
He alleges that the attendance of ministers of state at Cabinet meetings is incompatible with Articles 6, 13 and 28 of the Constitution.
A similar legal challenge was launched last week by Sinn Féin TD and former justice spokesperson Pa Daly.
