Sherwin O’Riordan staff to raise funds for homework club with charity hike
Lawyers at Sherwin O’Riordan Solicitors are set to take part in the firm’s first charity hike in support of a homework club for children living in extremely challenging circumstances.
Members of the firm will climb Lugnaquilla, the highest mountain in Leinster, in aid of the Irish Youth Foundation (IYF), which part-funds the “Just ASK” homework club.
The after-school support project provides weekly activities for up to 120 children and teens and their families, while also providing support to families in crisis situations, a safe space for young people who are most vulnerable, and hot healthy dinners to the children four days per week.
Staff have set a €6,000 fundraising target and have begun accepting donations via Gofundme.
James Sherwin, partner at Sherwin O’Riordan, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the Irish Youth Foundation for this charity hike.
“The Just ASK project is a wonderful initiative that offers valuable support and help to disadvantaged children in the area.
“In addition, the Irish Youth Foundation does incredible work in giving the youth of our country opportunities to thrive and develop in so many areas of their lives, particularly through education.
“As a firm, we have always greatly admired them as a charity organisation that truly fulfils its remit.”
