The firm has advised on a number of high-profile Irish deals across its core sectors of asset management and funds, healthcare and life sciences, and technology, media and telecommunications (TMT).

However, the firm has warned that there could be less deals activity as the year goes on.

David Brangam, head of corporate at Simmons in Dublin, said: “The headwinds are definitely there in terms of geopolitical instability, increased borrowing costs and inflationary pressures and the reality is that wider M&A activity is down markedly on 2022.

“Looking ahead, the gap between sellers’ expectations and buyers’ realities on valuations is narrowing only slowly, deals are getting more complex and are taking longer to close so the rest of the year is going to be challenging for dealmakers.”
