Siteserv inquiry's final report to be published today

The final report of long-running inquiry into the controversy surrounding the €45 million sale of Siteserv to billionaire Denis O’Brien in 2012 is expected to be published today.

Mr Justice Brian Cregan was appointed in 2015 to lead a commission of investigation into the transaction, which saw the State-owned Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC) write off €119 million of Siteserv’s €150m debt.

The High Court judge submitted his final report to the Taoiseach in July and its publication has now been cleared by the attorney general, according to RTÉ News.

Siteserv was a company providing a wide range of services to public and private companies, such as scaffolding for construction projects and the installation of satellite TV boxes.

The inquiry is widely expected to find that the decision to sell the company and write off the majority of its debt was not commercially sound.
