Sports law conference moves venue following strong demand
Organisers of the Sports Law Bar Association of Ireland’s (SLBA) inaugural conference say they have been forced to move the conference to a larger venue due to strong demand.
SLBA secretary Robert McTernaghan BL told Irish Legal News that the conference has been moved to a larger room within the Law Library to accommodate the “mind-blowing” interest.
Mr McTernaghan added: “Since we announced the keynote speaker, Dr Ross Tucker, my inbox hasn’t stopped.
“We have a broad range of attendees — barristers, solicitors, in house counsel with sporting governing bodies and associations, and academics from all over the island.”
The all-Ireland association of barristers with specialist sports law knowledge and practices was founded last year to increase awareness of sports law provide the most up-to-date advice to sports law clients.
Mr McTernaghan said the association’s inaugural conference would draw “on national and international expertise in the field”.
