State Claims Agency pays €15m to lawyers and €38m for plaintiffs' fees

Solicitors working on behalf of the State Claims Agency (SCA) were paid over €15 million last year, while plaintiff legal costs paid by the SCA reached almost €38 million.

At around €3 million, Mason Hayes & Curran (MHC) earned more in fees acting for the SCA than any other firm in 2016.

Meanwhile, Augustus Cullen Law Solicitors was paid €5,775,249 for plaintiffs’ fees, narrowly ahead of Cantillons on €5,087,413.
