NI: TLT appoints Patrick O’Hanlon as legal director in Belfast
Law firm TLT has expanded its UK-wide real estate team with the appointment of Patrick O’Hanlon as legal director in Northern Ireland.
Mr O’Hanlon specialises in property development, real estate finance, acquisitions and asset management. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, he worked in the construction industry for more than five years.
The dual-qualified solicitor then gained five years’ property law experience in England before returning to Belfast to join a large commercial firm in 2013. He acts for developers, investors, landlords, retailers, banks, administrators, receivers and government bodies.
Mr O’Hanlon’s appointment comes during a sustained period of growth for TLT in Northern Ireland. Later this year, its Belfast office will relocate to River House in the Cathedral Quarter.
Real estate partner Judith Allen said: “Patrick is a great addition to our team. His experience is second to none and will help to strengthen our Belfast offering as we continue to grow.”
Ms Allen, who is also based at TLT’s Belfast office, added: “In spite of the challenges in the market, we are seeing a relatively high level of real estate activity, particularly in relation to city centre developments and large residential schemes. There are opportunities, and we look forward to continuing to support our clients with their investment decisions.”
Mr O’Hanlon said: “I am delighted to have joined such a strong and successful team.
“TLT has had significant expansion and been involved in some of the biggest developments in Belfast in the last year. There is a real buzz about this firm as it continues to have a positive impact on the local real estate market. Property investment is evolving rapidly, and I’m excited to be assisting our clients as new opportunities emerge.”
