Trinity College Law Society launches alumni network
Trinity College Dublin Law Society has announced the launch of a new alumni network, sponsored by A&L Goodbody.
The initiative aims to allow alumni to reconnect at social events as well as building a community encompassing alumni and current students to support and learn from each other.
The network’s inaugural event will be an alumni gala on Friday 11 November, which will be attended by former chief justice Susan Denham — a TCD alumnus and the president of Trinity Law Society — as guest of honour.
“We hope to hold the gala for our current senior sophister students, alongside a collection of the Law School’s alumni from different fields, from commercial law to public and private practice, the Bar to the judiciary and beyond,” the society said.
The society is also launching a new Alumni Gazette later in the academic year, which will keep alumni up to date with developments in TCD and the wider law. The publication will also aim to give current and prospective law students an idea of where a TCD law degree can take them.
Alexander Clark, the society’s first-ever alumni officer, said: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed the alumni officer for the 89th session of the Law Society and excited to work with the passionate and dedicated individuals on the LawSoc committee.
“Our alumni can go anywhere with their degrees, but we all started in the same place — the Berkeley pit. I can’t wait to see what the alumni network can grow into, and to welcome our alumni back to TCD.”
