Tughans tops Northern Ireland M&A table in first half of 2023
Tughans has been named as Northern Ireland’s most prolific M&A firm in the first half of 2023 — holding the position for an eighth consecutive year.
The Belfast-based firm advised on 17 transactions in the first six months of the year, according to the latest Experian MarketIQ report.
It was followed by Carson McDowell with 16, Davidson McDonnell Solicitors with 11, A&L Goodbody with nine and Arthur Cox with six.
Turley Legal and Mills Selig each advised on four transactions, MKB Law and Shoosmiths each advised on three, and Addleshaw Goddard advised on two.
There were 87 transactions in Northern Ireland’s M&A market in the first half of 2023, down by more than a third from 134 in the first half of 2022. The total value, at £128 million, was down by 72 per cent from the £456m in 2022.
