Two lawyers appointed to Charities Regulator
Stephen Keogh and Darren Lehane SC have been appointed to the board of the Charities Regulator.
Mr Keogh is a practising solicitor and the managing partner of Sellors LLP, while Mr Lehane is a senior counsel practising in the areas of public law, commercial law and chancery law.
The two lawyers, as well as former An Garda Síochána assistant commissioner Michael O’Sullivan, were appointed as ordinary members following an open competition.
Rural and community development minister Heather Humphreys said: “I would like to congratulate the newly-appointed members, who will bring a wealth of experience and expertise in their contribution to the integral work of the Charities Regulator.
“I would like to take this opportunity to also thank those departing members, who have played an important role in the significant progress made by the Regulator in recent years.
“With over 11,500 charities on the Charities Register, the work of the Regulator is vitally important. I have no doubt that the board will continue its essential work in building public trust and confidence in our charity sector.”
