UCC School of Law to launch new Centre for Children’s Rights and Family Law
The School of Law at University College Cork will officially launch its new Centre for Children’s Rights and Family Law next month.
The new centre, to be launched on 16 April, will serve as a focal point for the wide range of research, teaching and outreach activity taking place in the areas of children’s rights and family law.
It comes less than a year after UCC School of Law acted as the local host organisation for the 7th World Congress on Family Law and Children’s Rights, which attracted over 600 delegates and over 150 speakers from over 50 countries to Dublin for four days.
The launch of the new centre will be marked by a public lecture delivered by the school’s Adjunct Professor John Eekelaar, emeritus fellow of Oxford University, on “Family Law and Identity”.
Professor Eekelaar has been a leading international scholar and lecturer in the area of child and family law for decades and is co-director of the Oxford Centre for Family Law and Policy (OXFLAP).
More information about the lecture is available from EventBrite.
