UCD team triumphs in Intervarsity Law Summit moot
Law students at University College Dublin have triumphed in the annual Intervarsity Law Summit Moot Court Competition, besting the runners-up from Dublin City University.
Robin Jowett, Josh Walsh and Katie Carragher formed the winning team, while Ms Carragher also won the Best Speaker Award.
The DCU team which made it to the final in Galway was formed of Lara Gilmore and Caoimhe Tuite.
Professor Tom O’Malley SC, Séamus Clarke SC, Patrick F. O’Reilly SC, Conor Duff BL and Sorcha Duggan BL judged the final of the competition.
Adam O’Carroll, the Maynooth law student who organised the competition, said: “Thank you to our participants from universities across the island of Ireland, along with our esteemed judges, and the University of Galway School of Law.”
He added: “The Intervarsity Law Summit was a fantastic success where those from across the legal community in Ireland came together for a weekend filled with networking, competitions, and guest speaker events from both the current and former Chief Justices of the Irish Supreme Court.”
The organising committee included Henrica Kondjo, Fiachra McInerney, Mona Collins, Dorian Jaros, Jack O’Dea, Eric Ehigie, Niamh Doorey, Éabha Gaughan, Alexandra Cooper, Eoin Noonan, Seán Bonner, and Meadhbh King.
