NI: Unionist legal challenge to NI Protocol to be heard next month
A legal challenge brought by unionist politician Jim Allister against the Northern Ireland Protocol will be heard by the High Court in Belfast next month.
Mr Allister, leader of the Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) party, has instructed lawyers to challenge the Protocol on the basis that it breaches the Act of Union.
Mr Justice Colton yesterday set aside up to four days in May for the judicial review, which is also being backed by senior DUP and UUP politicians.
It is one of a number of legal challenges to the Protocol which are expected to be heard in the Northern Ireland courts in the coming months.
