US-based Clark Hill mergers with Texas-based Strasburger & Price
A major US firm with an office in Dublin is merging with a Texas-based law firm with effect from today.
Clark Hill, which has more than 450 lawyers in 17 offices, is combining with Strasburger & Price, which has nearly 200 lawyers in nine offices.
The new combined firm will have nearly 650 lawyers with 25 offices in 12 states, the District of Columbia, Ireland, and Mexico and will be known as Clark Hill except in Texas, where it will operate as Clark Hill Strasburger.
John Hern, CEO of Clark Hill, said: “Strasburger’s core values and culture are well aligned with ours and its commitment to the highest levels of client and community service is just as strong.
“This merger aligns perfectly with our strategy of expanding into high growth markets which is also where our clients are moving and where they need our services.”
The expansion represents Clark Hill’s third major merger in the last five years, having merged with Thorp Reep & Armstrong (100 lawyers) in 2013 and Morris Polich & Purdy LLP (nearly 100 lawyers) in 2017.
The firm quietly opened its Dublin office last year, headed by Daniel O’Connell, former managing partner at Kerman & Co. He is joined in the firm’s sole Irish office by three other partners.
