Whitney Moore partner appointed to Meritas board
Whitney Moore partner Emma Richmond has been appointed to the board of directors of Meritas, a global alliance of independent law firms.
Meritas helps to connect businesses with law firms in 254 markets worldwide, with 184 member law firms and nearly 9,000 lawyers.
Ms Richmond has taken up a position on the 2021-24 board following the stepping down of German lawyer Hans Helwig.
In a statement, Meritas said: “Emma brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the Meritas community. She’s been an active member of our employment, benefits, and immigration group and has been an enthusiastic participant in various Meritas activities.
“Her appointment to the board couldn’t come at a more important time, as the board continues to guide the implementation of Meritas’ forward-thinking strategic plan.
“This plan encompasses groundbreaking initiatives, including our cutting-edge legal technology program, aimed at keeping our network’s 180-plus members at the leading edge of cross-border client service.”
Writing on LinkedIn, Ms Richmond said: “An honour to join the board of Meritas, and looking forward to working with everyone in Meritas to continue to drive and support the network as it continues to grow.
“Thank you to Hans Helwig for all his work during his term, a tough act to follow!”
