William Fry named Ireland’s most innovative law firm
William Fry LLP has been ranked by FT as Ireland’s most innovative law firm.
The firm was ranked at 34 — the highest of any Irish law firm — in a new report naming the 50 most innovative law firms in Europe.
The report highlighted a number of examples of innovations in legal expertise by the firm, including innovation in restructuring in relation to its work advising a group of bondholders on the largest court-ordered liquidation (GTLK) in the history of the Irish State.
It remarked on its innovation in private capital for advising Elavon on the first cross-border conversion into Ireland of an entity incorporated in another EEA member state.
The report also welcomed the firm’s innovation in outside counsel management, highlighting its collaboration with Mercer Global Investments to develop ‘best in class’ fund documents for Mercer’s Global Investments European fund solutions business.
As well as appearing in the report, William Fry was also shortlisted in three categories at the FT Innovative Awards, held at the Natural History Museum in London last week.
Owen O’Sullivan, managing partner at William Fry, said: “William Fry has had an exceptional year advising on some of the most innovative transactions and cases in Europe.
“In addition, over the last 12 months we have introduced some really exciting innovative products to help our clients navigate regulation and help our staff from a training and responsible business viewpoint.
“This FT Innovative Report ranking reinforces our place as the corporate law firm of choice in the Irish market. At William Fry, we work constantly to innovate and to be solutions-focused in our approach, and we are delighted that this is being acknowledged.”
