William Fry’s Myra Garrett appointed to NTMA board
William Fry partner and former managing partner Myra Garrett has been appointed to the board of the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) for a five-year term.
The NTMA is a State body which operates with a commercial remit to provide asset and liability management services to the government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing Ireland’s national debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Ms Garrett, who specialises in corporate law including mergers and acquisitions, capital market transactions and corporate governance, is one of two new appointees taking up a position on the board with effect from 22 December 2023, alongside Fiona Ross.
Finance minister Michael McGrath said: “Both Myra Garrett and Fiona Ross will bring a wealth of both professional and governance experience to their membership of the NTMA’s board and I wish them well on their appointments.”
NTMA chairperson Susan Webb added: “I welcome the announcement by the Minister for Finance today of the appointment of Myra Garrett and Fiona Ross to the NTMA board.
“Myra Garrett and Fiona Ross are well placed to make valuable contributions to the agency over the terms of their appointments with their skills and expertise complementing those of the existing agency members.”
Ms Garrett is a law graduate from University College Dublin and also serves on the management board of the International Bar Association (IBA). She has previously served as a director of the Road Safety Authority, the UCD Foundation and the Institute of Directors.
