Wilson Nesbitt partner recognised as ‘outstanding mentor’
Wilson Nesbitt partner Lenore Rice has been recognised as an “outstanding mentor” at the 2023 Women in Business Awards in Belfast.
Ms Rice joined the Belfast-based firm in 1991 and leads its individual and family life department, advising on divorce, financial settlements, high net worth asset protection, trusts, wealth succession planning and estates and wills disputes.
Her first formal experience of mentoring was undertaken through Women in Business, having completed the group’s mentor programme delivered by experts from Advance Coaching.
She now mentors through the Law Society of Northern Ireland and Queen’s University Belfast Women in Law, as well as assisting business clients in mentoring.
Internally, Ms Rice has been a master to trainee solicitors for nine years with special dispensation to facilitate two law firm trainees in the same year.
The Outstanding Mentor award, sponsored by Version 1, recognises mentors who have given generously of their time, to support, guide, challenge and encourage their mentees to success.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Roseann Kelly, chief executive of Women in Business, said: “It is a real honour for Women in Business to bring together this group of inspiring businesswomen who have each excelled in their field and made hugely significant contributions to the business ecosystem in Northern Ireland.
“Our 11th awards was a true showcase of the amazing talent of businesswomen locally as Women in Business continues to celebrate, encourage and inspire women to achieve their ambitions.
“Congratulations to all of the winners and finalists, we look forward to seeing what the future holds for you and your business.”
