NI: Worthingtons Solicitors support local teen in global karate contest
Worthingtons Solicitors has sponsored a Newtownards teenager who has been selected to compete in the World Karate Federation Championships in Italy.
Lucy Oldfield, 14, a pupil at Regent House Grammar School, is one of seven representing Northern Ireland at the championships.
She and her team mates will travel to Montichiara in the north of Italy to take on the best martial artists from around the world.
Worthingtons has funded her travel to and and from the event.
Huw Worthington, senior partner at Worthingtons Solicitors, told Irish Legal News: “Not only is Lucy very naturally talented, she shows impressive dedication to her sport by training on a daily basis.
“We are delighted to provide financial support for her World Championship efforts and look forward to hearing of her success.
“With Karate likely to become an Olympic sport, she is certainly ‘one to watch’ in the coming years!”
