Legal Executive – Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission

The Organisation

The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (“IHREC”) was established in 2014 through the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014 to protect and promote human rights and equality and to encourage the development of a culture of respect for human rights, equality and intercultural understanding in the State.

The staff of the Commission work in four teams: Policy & Research, Strategic Engagement, Legal and Corporate Services. Permanent staff of the Commission are civil servants in the service of the State. The Commission now seeks suitably qualified individuals to join its Legal team in the role of Legal Executive.

The Role

The Legal Executive will play a central role in provision of organisational and legal support to the Legal team. The main responsibilities will include day-to-day practice management such as supporting the Higher Legal Executive in delivering effective and efficient systems that underpin the Legal Department and arranging and delivering paralegal support to a team of litigation solicitors such as preparing papers for litigation before the superior courts and Workplace Relations Commission.
