Senior Solicitor (Clinical Negligence)

Thompsons Solicitors are a law firm unlike any other. With 100 years’ experience of successfully representing clients of injury and mistreatment, we have the privilege of working with and supporting the Trade Union movement and the people they represent.

Due to continued growth we are looking for an experienced Senior Solicitor to join our team of committed and passionate professionals in our Belfast office. You will be engaged in challenging and rewarding, high value casework as you represent clients who are victims of clinical negligence. This will provide a platform for you to showcase your exceptional client care and communication skills, sound judgement, confident decision-making and significant legal knowledge and expertise.

The opportunity will suit a confident and compassionate Senior Solicitor with a committed background of representing plaintiffs and victims of clinical negligence, matched by a strong track record of running complex cases. You will be handling claims for clinical negligence, surgical error and complications such as cerebral palsy, injuries caused by mesh implants, misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis cases, including those involving cancer. Therefore you will have a natural ability to provide legal services with a personal touch, demonstrating your care, understanding and sensitivity to clients who may have suffered negligence.

As a Senior Solicitor with at least 8 years PQE, you will run a high value caseload which includes complex cases at the highest values, and you will be able to deal with all aspects of running these cases from initial interview to trial. You will therefore need to have a thorough working knowledge and understanding of the issues involved in dealing with such cases, such as costs and the litigation process. The ideal candidate will also play an important role in helping to achieve the team’s objectives.

Starting Salary: £47,291 (Plus £4,500 car allowance)
