Whole-Time Tribunal Members
The International Protection Appeals Tribunal (IPAT) is a statutorily independent body and is responsible for determining appeals against recommendations of International Protection Officers in accordance with the International Protection Act 2015 and certain related matters.
The main function of the International Protection Appeals Tribunal is to hear and determine appeals against recommendations made by an International Protection Officer on applications for international protection status in the State.
The Tribunal Members (whole-time) will have responsibility for conducting appeal hearings, issuing written decisions, and may be asked to assist the Chairperson with the delivery of training to, and mentoring of, part-time Tribunal Members, and with the delivery of effective quality assurance systems.
