Chief Justice to address next Lawyers Against Homelessness event
The Chief Justice of Ireland, Mr Justice Frank Clarke, has been announced as the key speaker at the next Lawyers Against Homelessness (LAH) charity CPD event.
The event on Thursday 27 June will be the sixth CPD conference organised by the group, founded in late 2017 as a collaborative effort of barristers and solicitors in support of the Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People.
The seminar, worth four CPD points, will bring practitioners up to speed on legal updates in the areas of planning law; personal injury litigation; licensing; and defamation law.
Mr Justice Bernard Barton of the High Court and David Hegarty of the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE) will also speak at the event.
Solicitors from McCann FitzGerald, Arthur Cox, Compton, Mason Hayes & Curran and BLM will address the seminar alongside barristers Richard Kean SC, Peter Bland SC, Conor Bowman SC, Brenda Power BL and Patrick Silke BL.
The last Lawyers Against Homelessness CPD event in March smashed its own records after raising over €22,000 for charity, following an over €80,000 fundraising total in its first year.
